Sanala combines original Brightforge course material with carefully attributed open data. A license name alone is not enough where attribution is required, so this page records the source, use, and changes.
Tatoeba Finnish-English sentences
Selected Finnish-English test sentences come from the Tatoeba Project through the Helsinki-NLP Tatoeba Challenge data route. They are used for example sentences, listening prompts, and word context under CC BY 2.0 FR. Pairs were selected, normalized, and packaged as an exercise corpus. Sanala does not bundle Tatoeba audio. Sentence authors are credited through Tatoeba and its contributor records.
Wiktionary definitions
Finnish definitions, parts of speech, and IPA may be retrieved at request time from English Wiktionary. Word cards identify the source. Wikimedia text is available under CC BY-SA 4.0 and, where applicable, GFDL; see the Wikimedia Terms of Use. This content is not bundled into the app binary.
LibreLingo format acknowledgement
Sanala-authored course YAML follows a LibreLingo-style organization. The current code audit found no LibreLingo application source code or third-party course content bundled into Sanala. LibreLingo software is AGPL-3.0; Sanala's original course text is marked CC BY 4.0 in its metadata.
Spaced repetition
Sanala's scheduler is independently authored from public descriptions of the SM-2 family of algorithms. No Anki source code is bundled. We acknowledge Anki as an important open-source spaced-repetition project.
Packages and trademarks
Flutter and Dart packages retain their respective licenses. Resolved package license files in each build are authoritative. Third-party names and logos remain the property of their owners and do not imply endorsement.
